DAY 1: FIRST DAY OF 3 DAYS TRIP FROM CASABLANCA TO RABAT
Today our driver-guide will pick you up from Casablanca Airport to Rabat, the administrative capital of the Kingdom. You’ll visit the Royal Palace of Rabat and the walls of Mechouar.
Hassan Tower: A symbol of Rabat, started by Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour in the 12th century with the vision of building the largest mosque in the Muslim world, second only to that of Samarra. Unfortunately, construction stopped after the sultan’s death in 1199. The tower, intended to reach 60 meters, now stands at 44 meters.
Mausoleum of Mohammed V: The royal tomb houses the remains of King Mohammed V and his sons, Moulay Abdellah and Hassan II.
Kasbah of the Udayas: Inside, you can explore a former military prison, lush gardens, museums, and the charming blue-and-white streets of the kasbah.
Night and dinner will be at the hotel in Rabat.
DAY 2: RABAT – MEKNES – FES
After breakfast, we depart to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities.
Bab el-Khemis: Located next to the old Mellah (Jewish Quarter) of Meknes.
Walk through the streets of the medina, converging at the Great Mosque of Meknes. Visit the Palace of Idrissidas and the Bou Inania Madrasa, a masterpiece of Arab architecture.
Place Hédim: A large square with remarkable shops dedicated to the Tafilalet region.
Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail: One of the rare religious monuments open to non-Muslims.
Sahrij Souani: A large reservoir that once stored the city’s food reserves.
Royal Academy: Visit the famous stud farm, known for breeding purebred Arabian horses.
Next, we head to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city. Highlights include:
- The House of Orpheus
- Place du Capitole
- Arch of Caracalla: Offering a scenic view over the Zerhoun plain
At the end of the day, we continue to Fez for a night and dinner at the hotel.
DAY 3: FES – VISIT OF THE MEDINA AND TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT
After breakfast, we begin our Fez city tour.
Bab Boujloud: This iconic gate opens to an esplanade where the Fez Festival of World Sacred Music takes place each year.
Tanners’ District: Located in the heart of Fez el-Bali, the tanneries have been producing leather using ancient methods since the Middle Ages.
Karaouine Mosque: One of the oldest mosques and learning centers in the world, it has been a hub of Islamic education for over a thousand years.
Al-Attarine Madrasa: Built between 1323 and 1325 by Sultan Abu Said Othman, this former Quranic school is a fine example of Merinid architecture.
Fondouk Nejjarine: Now home to the Museum of Wood Arts and Crafts, the rooftop tea room offers stunning views over the medina.
After the tour, we transfer you to Fez airport, marking the end of your 3-day trip from Casablanca.
